Welcome to MIDI-OX, the world's greatest all-purpose MIDI Utility!  For those with time on their hands, you can read a brief history of MIDI-OX and how it came by its name. It operates outside of reason/live. Works well with maple virtual midi ports.

so here is how i use it.

download midi ox & install

download maple & install - http://www.hurchalla.com/Maple_driver.html. This is a freeware virtual midi port software.

the basic premise is that midi ox recieves midi cc's, note on, mod & pitch wheel (other stuff as well) and these messages can then be mapped to virtual ports. this "mapping" can also involve translation of one message into another as well as duplicating messages to other channels.

what this means for reason is that i can translate/duplicate my controller keyboard, kaoss pad, etc onto (in theory) 4 x 16 midibus channels = controlling 64 different devices.

this is also a bit of a workaround when using a remote sl and the automap feature, as when automap is enabled and buttons aren't in use they cannot be reallocatted via remote override.

there are limitations when it comes to buttons....

does involve some setting up of mapping in midi ox which i am happy to go through if required.
