bit of a blend of 3 tracks written at different times. live cut always gets a workout , you should try playing live bass guitar thru it

That intro has massive dub(step) potential as a stand-alone... will download and have a decent listen later today... edit: re:vocal sample- too repetitive as it stands, imho... I would either break it in half, with a little 15-20 sec turn-around in the middle (something like those elastic clicky noises in the wind-up) OR (my personal pref, but hard to explain) automate an overdrive, saturator and pitch-shifter *ever-so-slightly*so the sample repeats that many times, but kinda diversifies its tone at the same time (a la the outro to Beck's "Devil's Haircut" or that typical Groove Terminator vocal manipulation style)... am I making sense?

I don't think it needs anything chopped out... they're in no way jarring or outta place... p'raps make 3 versions of yummy'cid fkrs, each leaning towards a particular genre or whatever> it's a great track... basically all you'd need to do is shorten or extend various bits to lean toward one style or another and make 3 different breaks to superimpose at various intervals. My personal agenda is to see this track as a dubstep track... I could maybe remix it when you're done to save "forcing your artistic output" OR I could send you some dubstep breaks I've written for the next FeralPeril mind/sound excursion OR I could pass on a wicked video Peril gave me- explains that "dubstep shuffle" style of breaks better than I could... (despite the lethargic lurching sound dubstep often has, it actually runs about 10-20 bpm quicker than the majority of your music)

you remixing it is the go

Throbgoblin's picture
as ive never really thought about trying to make dubstep but it has elements in it that i really like & the only stuff Ive heard that i would class as good is what ive heard you playing but it would be good to check out the tutorial on the timing of the breaks etc . which bits would you like for your experiemnt? Ive got to render all the channels out seperately anyway. let me know & ill upload some wav files to the server. or just bring em up on disc on the 28th dale

Got the drums as 1-hits? The most important components on a cursory relisten are that 303 in the beginning, the bassline itself, those clicky sounds and that FMish riff thing (forgot to check out when it kicks in> sometime within the 1st 90secs) and the all-important, obligatory drug reference! Wink

no probs on all the above

Throbgoblin's picture
& although it might seem like a drug reference it actually expresses my deep love & yearning for the squelchy 90's stompin acid techno which was my introduction to electronic music & which is sorely missing from modern dancefloors. perhaps someday itwill return...... me & steve got a solid dose of it from luke vibert when we played at earthcore ( he wrote a stack of reallly good honking stompers back then) but im assuming most ppl will take it as a drug reference. yikes

I know... was mainly just taking the piss outta generic electronic music (sightrance inpatikala!) If you could provide me with any acid beats/breaks, I'll gladly make some mutant acid for ya! I've always had trouble with getting the "fullness" of the acid sound hapening.
